Life in the Mojave is not simple and our structure in itself is very unusual. The most important question to ask and answer yourself is, whether this is for you.
This brief assessment sheet is based on our six years of experience with volunteers, work exchangers, community members, etc.

If you have ever thought of escaping the rat race, stop having to pay endless rent, bills and mortgages, and start to rely on your own hand’s work, your own creativity rather than live at the mercy of your employer – this might be for you.
If you feel that the best way to flourish is to have a lucrative job and just make enough money to pay for and buy everything you want – this place is definitely not for you.
If you ever felt that planting your own plant babies, growing and processing your own food is the best way to get quality nutrition that you can trust, for you and your family – this might be for you
If you feel that the best way to get good quality food is paying a premium for food with some government approved stamps on them – this place is definitely not for you.
If you feel that a small community where the values by which people live are clearly and simply stated and the tasks and responsibilities are well designed and communicated can provide a better quality of living than any random cohabitation of random people – this might be for you.
If you think that big cities are awesome, and they are one of the greatest feats of modern society – this place is definitely not for you.
If you think people are people and their work and effort should be rewarded equally, provided they gave equal contribution in quantity and quality – this might be for you.
If you feel that some jobs should pay disproportionally more than others and people with less sought after work should live off of less money – this place is definitely not for you.
If you feel that you and everyone in your close community should have equal say in major decisions that affect the community as a whole and your life in particular – this might be for you.
If you think the best way to govern is to elect representatives who get free reign over your life for their term in office – this place is definitely not for you.
Probably most importantly if you feel family is more than just accident of birth and/or shared DNA you may find an extended version of that here.
